White, mint, pink and chevrons, isn't that just the perfect combination for summer?
This was a difficult mani, not that the execution was difficult, I just messed it up multiple times! First I wanted only pink and mint chevrons on my thumb and pinky, but it did not look good. So I freehanded white into the design, not as clean as with tape, but it was ok.
Then I messed up my index and had to do it over, but I applied tape before it was completely dry and messed it up again. And while redoing my index I smudged polish on my middle finger. By now it was 3 AM and I simply removed the polish on my index and middle and went to bed with two naked nails, ready start fresh the next morning!
It went better the next day, and I'm pretty happy with the result! It was time consuming though, first a base of OPI - My Boyfriend Scales The Walls, then a coat of Poshé to make it dry quicker. Applied tape and a coat of Essie - Mint Candy Apple, another coat of Poshé. When that was dry I applied tape again, a coat of OPI - DS Extravagance and two coats of Poshé to smooth it all out! Phew...
My other hand simply got two mint nails, two pink and one white, lol :p
I prefer both my hands to match! Usually I actually do identical design on both hands, but if I don't have time I atleast wear the same colors. How about you?
Very beautiful design!!!

ReplyDeleteTape manis can be difficult! But the end result o this one is amazing :) I love the colors and all the patterns :) Congrats about winning the contest :) <3
ReplyDeleteHow do you get the zig zag? I've tried cutting tape and it doesn't cut correctly.
ReplyDeleteI used craft scissor with a "zig zag" pattern to cut the tape :)
