Happy New Year everyone! :D I know everyone are doing 2013 re-cap posts right now, and I will do one too, but first I want to show you the manicure I wore on New Years eve!
I wanted SPARKLES! So I decided to use the amazing Cirque - XX. To make sure it would cover my nails completely I started with one coat of OPI - Haven't The Froggiest, then I followed this tutorial by Nail Wish to apply Cirque - XX. It's a very easy trick to apply glitter polish without excessive polish build up, you apply the glitter polish to a sponge, let the polish soak into the sponge for a couple of seconds and then you just sponge the glitter on to your nail! Perfect glittet coverage!
To make it a bit more edgy I added a black skittle design on top using tape, striping tape and stamped on ring finger nail with Cheeky Jumbo plate #6 "Happy Holidays" and Konad black. I used two layers of top coat before adding the black design to try and smooth out the glitter, with varying success, lol. This much glitter is bound to be gritty. Three coats would probably have been better, but I didn't want 1cm thick nails... O_o
For easy removal I used Helmer's School Glue as my base! Previously I've used the glue above my regular base coat, but when I tried to peel off the glue it also peeld off my nails! This time I used glue only, and it worked like a charm!
When I parked my car when I got home after the party, I found a "nail" in my car seat, lol! Perfect wear time?
I hope you all had a wonderful celebration, and also a fantastic Christmas, and all the best wishes for 2014 :)
What a gorgeous and fun manicure for New Years Eve! Its amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous as usual.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little afraid of using this glue technique and have my nails dry because of it. So I just use the aluminium paper technique whenever I wear glitter polish. This Cirque is to die for. Love it!
Happy New Year Lisa!
