The theme for yesterday's June Nail Art Challenge was ocean, and I decided to do a blue water marble! I think it sort of resembles waves, bubbles and the sea. Also, this is my second to last 31DC "Favorite color family", which is blue <3 Well, I really love pink, but for nails, I think I actually love blue just a tiny bit more!

I wanted to try marbeling with clear nail polish and having a glitter as a base, so I used OPI - Get Your Number, a liquid sand, as my base for the marble. I applied a thick coat of Poshé to speed up drying time, and get a smooth surface. Then it turned out I don't really have a clear polish that works for water marbles...

I got a couple of decent marbles using my Essie - Noursh Me base coat, but it did not turn out like I had hoped :-/ Does anyone know of a clear polish that works for water marbles?

I then added some dots using Get Your Number and a new polish I got from a friend of mine called RARE - Bluebell. Bluebell worked perfect for water marbles! I got two more colors, so I'm really excited to try them. I've never heard of RARE before, anyone else?

I wish I hadn't added the light dots, I think it kind of ruined the design... Oh well, what ever ;)

  15. I've seen someone use China Glaze - Rainbow, it looks fantastic with water marbles. Here's a link to a vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyXtkEmopnA , she uses it in almost all of her water marbles. It's a sheer coat. Runs about $7 at Sally Beauty Supply.
