Cult Nails - Flushed and Cirque - Galinda in a fabulous sandwich! Base is one coat of Flushed, one coat of Galinda, another Flushed, one more coat of Galinda and finished with Flushed again. In addition to base and top coat, my nails are super thick! :p
Flushed is gorgeous in it self, but I'm thinking of entering Kayla's indie nail art contest, so I wanted to do a little more with it and decided to try the sandwich thing. It's usually done with jelly polishes, but it worked pretty well with thin coats of regular shimmer polish as well!
But I wanted to do even more with the manicure, so I tried some freehand swirls... They look ok from far away, but they're really not that great, lol! I used H&M - In It For The Game for the swirls and a tiny brush. I understand why people usually use acrylic pains for this sort of thing, it's thinner than nail polish and does not dry as fast. However, I'm thinking if I maybe thinned the polish with remover before using it for painting, it might have worked better?
It was fun though, I'm defenitely going to try more freehand stuff :)
I haven't decided it I'm going to enter this in the contest yet, entries are open until April 30th, so I'm gonna wait a little while and see if I think of something better :) I really like this contest though, I rarely see people use indie polishes for nail art, usually just swatches, and it's fun to see people being creative with them! So if you own any indie polishes, you should enter Kayla's indie nail art contest!
By the way! I created a facebook page for Polished Elegance, so now you can follow me on Facebook too! :)
